About me
I’ve been weight training since 1996 when I saved up my allowance and landscaping money to buy dumbbells and a weight bench at age 11 and I have been diligently training and researching ever since. I've made every mistake along the way and learned from them so you don’t have to.
After a lifetime of training for fitness and the love of pushing myself with increasingly harder challenges I finally found the sport of climbing and it has inspired me to specialize my training and has really helped to keep me motivated due to the interesting physical and mental challenges that it provides, so much so that I changed careers to pursue my passion for fitness and climbing. I have a background in the natural foods industry and have been vegan since 2011 and understand the requirements that are involved for an athlete. I have been running the youth programs 5 days a week at Central Rock Gym in Hadley since 2019 coaching all ages from 4 year old first timers to 18 year old nationally ranked athletes and adult first timers in my weekly climbing progression classes.
On a more personal note in my youth I had a weight loss journey of over 60 pounds and have kept it off since, I have had multiple serious injuries relating to motorcycle accidents that I have rehabbed and returned to climbing and I have been sober since 2011 and exercise has been a crucial part of that and I feel all of that combined gives me a unique perspective as a coach.
